Patliputra Industrial Area is one of Patna’s older industrial estates. It lies beside Patliputra Colony in the western part of the city and comes under the Patna cluster of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority, commonly known as BIADA. Over time, the surroundings have become heavily urbanised. Industrial plots now stand close to residential colonies, hospitals, offices, media establishments, retail properties and service centres.

The estate should not be confused with Patliputra Junction railway station or Patliputra Bus Terminal. These are separate transport facilities located in different parts of Patna.

Connectivity
1. Road Connectivity
Road connectivity is the strongest advantage of Patliputra Industrial Area. The estate is positioned within Patna city rather than on its distant outskirts, giving businesses access to Kurji, Digha, Rajiv Nagar, Boring Road, Nehru Path and central Patna.
Atal Path has significantly improved travel between the R-Block side and Digha. The road was created along the former Patna–Digha railway corridor and provides an important route for western Patna. From the wider Digha side, Patli Path connects towards AIIMS Patna, Phulwari Sharif and the southern side of the city.
The nearby JP Ganga Path corridor provides another route towards Digha and central riverfront areas. These roads have improved movement across western Patna, although congestion remains common around Kurji Mor, Rajiv Nagar, Boring Road and other major junctions during peak hours.

Patna Junction remains the city’s principal railway hub and provides a wider range of long-distance trains. Depending on traffic, employees and visitors can reach the industrial area from either station by auto, taxi or city road transport.
The words “Patliputra Industrial Area” and “Patliputra Junction” often create confusion, but the railway station is not situated inside the industrial estate.
3. Metro Connectivity
No operational Patna Metro station currently provides direct access to Patliputra Industrial Area. The operational section of Patna Metro is on the eastern side of the city and does not directly serve Patliputra Colony.
A Patliputra station is included in the planned Red Line corridor towards Danapur, but proposed or under-construction stations should not be treated as available transport until passenger services officially begin.
For now, employees mainly depend on buses, autos, e-rickshaws, taxis, motorcycles and private vehicles.
